Who will be the first top 25 team with a loss?

I don't think KY will lose to Marist, but the Red Foxes could make it interesting.
I don't think the Bulls can upset MD, and I don’t even except them to give them a scare.
Cal easy winners over Long beach.
PSU and LSU win big.
UNC shouldn't have any trouble with Air Force
Stetson will make OK work, but OK will get it done.
OK State will handle Lamar easily
Idaho will fight valiantly against Gonzaga, but won't get it done.
South Carolina over Charleston Southern in blowout.
That leaves UCLA Nebraska. UCLA just barely beat DII Vanguard, so probably won't win, but I'll pick them as my dark horse upset possibility.

My first poll, didn't do it quite right, but I'm confident people can figure it out.

That was easy - I am taking the field as is everyone else so far! Better poll would be limited to top 10.

Phil, I thought that your day job equipped you to predict with precision when things would come to an end, so to speak, rather than surveying to determine when individual potential victims would go pffft.

I'm better at predicting aggregate things than individual, which is why I decided to check with the experts here.

I agree. I wanted to let people pick any of the top 25, but I don't think the software allows that many choices.

My request was originally motivated by looking at the top 25 teams paying on Friday. and wondering if any of them will lose. probably not, but I wondered who would be the best chance at an upset.

However, I literally asked which top 25 team will suffer the first loss, which is an easier question, now that I've looked at the schedule.

Except Duke Plays Cal on Sunday, so by definition, that is the latest that there will be a top 25 loss.

What is Cal's ranking? Of the top 5 Stanford plays Uconn on Nov 11th. So I say Stanford will be the first. Of course, in the unlikely event Stanford wins the game, Uconn would be the first to lose in the top 5.

That should be short, indeed, quick.

I think a good question is which top 25 team (or top ten team) is the first to be upset by a lower or unranked team.

I think Maryland will be the first to lose - not to USF, but to UConn next Friday!

Just curious, Phil - you said Stetson will make OK work. Reason??

The list of traditional mid-majors that should make any ranked team work is not so large. When RU was doing well, I never worried about any OOC unranked team. In conference unranked teams were a different story, but that doesn't apply here.

Stetson beat FGCU in the conference title game last year. I think FGCU is a decent team (although I'm a little biased) so if Stetson is at the same levle, I'm thinking they won't roll over. I could be underestimating Ok or over-estimating Stetson, it wasn't based on much analysis.
