I don't watch any college baseball outside of UConn, so this is part question/part commentary. Does every college team run into as many outs as we appear to? I feel like having read the write-ups for years, and in this case seeing it on MLB.com, that we do it all the time. Right, wrong or way off base?
I watch a lot of college baseball... it’s a fairly normal occurrence (... and yes, UConn has had their fair share over the years).

Bottom 6th, UConn goes down in order for the fourth time today. 2-0 Cal Poly. Huskies with 2 hits and 2 walks so far this game.

Top 7th, Kenny Haus still on the mound for UConn to start the inning.

Haus with 3 scoreless innings out of the pen today. UConn coming up to bat in the bottom of the 7th.

Top 8th, another infield fielding mishap (Hague gets the error) leads to another run for Cal Poly to make it 3-0. Gozzo throws out a base steeler for the second out, Marrero comes up with his second strikeout of the inning for the third out.

Freshman Patrick Gallagher makes his UConn debut on the mound to start the top of the 9th inning.

Two runs off Gallagher for the first earned runs of UConn pitching today make it 5-0 for Cal Poly going to the bottom of the 9th. Pitching before Gallagher for UConn today was excellent, fielding and hitting not so much.

Rinse and repeat, UConn goes down 1-2-3 in the 9th. Cal Poly wins 5-0.

Wow. bats were invisible today. and fielding looked shaky. They looked like a northern team today playing in their first game.

In future seasons UConn baseball may be able to get out on their field and practice outside a little during mild and dry days during the winter. It didn't happen this winter with their playing field under construction.

I’m not surprised by today’s outcome. There are a lot of new guys breaking in, especially in the infield. It’ll take some time to get their communication and comfort level buttoned up. That being said it’s hard to win if your giving teams extra outs. I’m more concerned with the offense, or lack there of. We have to do a better job putting the ball in play. Cal Poly’s offense forced the defense to make plays.

I have season tickets for New York Penn League games in Norwich during the summer. This league has many first year players just out of college. This sort of thing happens often enough in that league. Still, getting picked off 2B by the catcher will make anyone grimace.

What's your verdict on the new name? I don't like it, but I also don't hate it.

Warm, not mild.

None of the final five names were all that good. I thought Sea Unicorns was the worst of the bunch. However, the uniforms do look good.

Not going to be easy for the bats to wake up against Rocker if he pitches tomorrow. I watched a good portion of the Michigan - Vanderbilt game and I was surprised that there are not that many fans in the stands.

You are not gonna see a better pitcher all year than rocker. Excited for kids to have that kind of opportunity. Will be interesting to see if it’s same lineup or penders makes some small changes
