I was toying with trying to get a Space-A flight to Ramstein. In September I wrote to the Services squadron there to ask about tickets for the game. They knew nothing about it. This week, I wrote again, and they had to do some research, which led me to a website. Here's what I learned. It's part of an annual series presented by Peraton and ESPN, called the Armed Forces Classic. Tickets will not be available to the general public. Whether that also excludes retired military personnel, I do not know. Unable to reach anyone at ESPN for info. Certainly don't want to fly all the way to Germany and then find I can't get in. Another ominous warning: the government shutdown may create further obstacles. Looks like my best option will be my easy chair in front of the TV.

It would have been cool if veterans were allowed. Especially considering the game is a week away from Veterans Day. Too bad.

I may be totally way off but I suspect it’s for our service men & women who are currently “active” and away from home and can’t just get a ticket.

Also, I doubt they can hold 20,000 people.

I’ve driven across the river for the Louisville game, to Indianapolis for the Butler game and to Chicago for the DePaul game.

Haven’t driven up to South Bend. 🤪

When I was in Germany. . . Not possible.

I get that. Just musing out loud, through my keyboard.

I don't even like to drive to Mohegan Sun anymore. Fly to Germany? Oh yeah, no problem. Years ago, when I was young and stupid (still stupid) I did drive 3 times back and forth to the Rack (Rutgers) for the BE tournament. That did not end well for UConn. Everything Harry's kids threw up found the bottom of the basket. DT tried to take over the game late, but that didn't work either.

The RAC (Rutgers Athletic Center) is a fun place to see a game though. Don't you think? The stands are essentially on one side with an angled roof on the other side that basically reflects noise back to the crowd. I've been in there for some men's games where it has been amazingly loud.

Yeah but, 3 consecutive nights from CT to central NJ was a bit much. FYI, even though I don't like to admit it, I'm originally from central CT. (never, ever going back.)

As far as a fun place, OK maybe, but not what you would expect from a P4 team. Their football stadium is more P4. Of course, they, and Princeton, invented football.

Debatable that game was more like soccer.
Ha, I don't mean to severe this thread way off course, but it stayed that way for years, gradually evolving, as it is still evolving to today. Plus, I'd say that rugby was probably a bigger influence in American FB than soccer.
