Does anyone know which assistant is primarily responsible for scouting? I fear it might be Morgan. While we love our former huskies this woman went 4-37 as a head coach. After our loss to Ohio St last year Geno mentioned being caught off guard by Cotie McMahon. How the big 10 FOY surprises a team was concerning. While we’ve never been a “flashy” defensive team A lot of our defensive deficiencies seem to have been since morgan joined the staff. Thoughts?

Is this a NCAA rules and regulations compliance position?

In this case we mean reviewing opponents’ game tapes and noting players that need extra defensive attention, identifying where on the court the opponent likes to shoot, etc. To scout means learn about opponents’ players and coaching strategies. UConn’s assistant coaches take turns scouting opponents and helping the game plan for them.

Here is the scouting report on UCONN. Attack the rim and body them up because they don’t like contact. Then on Defense box out the jump shooters because 90% of UCONN’s shots are soft jumpers.

I think the outside shooting was the plan, not related to the players being soft. I thought they looked more unprepared than they did soft and that is just an adjustment by the coaches.
