Scouting Creighton

It's time to punish the XL Center rims tonight - they're pretty unforgiving so best to have a lot of dunks against a young team.

Things from the preview I didn't know and mostly wouldn't have guessed:

The only schools that UConn has played three times or more in its series history without a victory are Creighton, Kansas, Niagara and Stevens. The Huskies are 0-3 against all three programs.

The only teams to beat UConn each of its first four meetings have been Duke, Fordham, UMass, New Hampshire, New York University, Purdue, SMU, Syracuse, Worcester Polytechnic, and Yale.
WPI? When was that? During the Great Depression?

Creighton isn't a good 3 pt shooting team, but they will shoot a lot of them. On their home court in Nebraska they blew the doors off Nova and St. John's as they shot a high percentage and got hot. UConn can't let them shoot many 3s without any hindrance assuming they will shoot poorly. As long they force Creighton to miss a few early on, that should be enough to keep Creighton from getting into a 3pt shooting rythmn and keep them cold. I have seen a lot of Creighton games this year and that's my anecdotal scouting.

Please elaborate on your “devil” comment. I’m very intrigued in what you think as a Nebraskan.

Hi Nebraska18!

As for the comment, he doesn’t like getting beaten over and over.

4 games is not over and over, losing 19 of 23 would qualify though.

And I’m sure he knows that number.
