Score Predictions vs Towson, 85-45

Towson less...
i noticed Maryland beat them 82-46. so i'm going to say 91-39. i think our offense and defense are better than Maryland's. of course, it was first game out for both teams so hard to draw any comparison conclusions there...
Towson is NOT a 3 point shooting team. they have only 2 players who have even made any this year and are averaging about 5 3-point shots per game. i can't see how they score much inside and if they aren't long range bombers, it will be hard to put any points on the board IMHO.
they actually start 2 players at 6'1", and their guards are 5'11", 5'10", and 5'6", so they have decent, but not overwhelming, height. Kelly will get to see again what it's like to be matched up against a bigger player. She's said she's gotten really banged around in some games, esp. Stanford.

I'm going with the averages...
UCONN is going to be a high 70's team this year.
Opponents are averaging about 41 points a game.
Plus this keeps my 30 points or more winning margin for the 90% group

Like Eric, I cheated and did some research.
Towson does not shoot many threes, but they do shoot well. Two of their kids are shooting at .375 and over .500. I'm assuming they go with the usual game plan and do not attempt many threes. My research shows that they shoot only .388 and average 18.6 TOs. Based on that, I am going really low with a score prediction of 35 for Towson.
For UConn, I think a lot of points off of turnovers. I'm also prediciting that Stef will get fed tonight for several easy hoops. She needs to prepare for Kelsey Bone. Kaleena's touch is a big key in UConn's scoring. I hope she is 8-8 from distance.
