Approaching the time of year when you want to establish momentum. Remember the men last year? So, any hiccups tonight?

I say no. UCONN 81 - OU 51.

Whacha think and why?

I don't think Oklahoma breaks 50. And since Geno and Sherrie are very good friends, Geno calls off the dogs in the second half.

I'm in line with you guys. Our defense should be good, though we need to watch the 3-point shot. The Sooners shoot 36% from the arc as a team. Ellenberg, Hand, and Hook are all dangerous, though Hand is shooting low this year (30%) by her former standards. OU averages about 72 ppg and their low games were 54 (at Baylor) and 58 (3x). I'll go with about 55 at home.

Our score depends on easy baskets and outside shooting. I hope KML is back on track. I think our kids will be up for the game and will run effectively.

Prediction: UConn 75 v. Oklahoma 55. There is a possibility of a big blowout, as in a two-fer. Tiffany will make her case for AA status on national television. KML will make her case for NFOY.

The defense has been consistently dominant. Offense has been less so. OU has generally been playing pretty well since the slow start to the season, but they've been no match for Baylor or A&M. They always get a big and good crowd for UConn, which will help, but Sherri's girls haven't seen the swarming, fast defense that UConn brings. Baylor's D is excellent too, but mainly because of what BG takes away. UConn is different. They will have issues dealing with it.

If UConn plays like they did against Georgetown, it will be ugly. That means Tiff, Bria, and KML all play their game on O and dominate. If they are cold, it'll more like the Duke game.

My prediction: 79-48. Geno didn't show Sherri any mercy last year in Hartford, and I don't see him doing so in Norman if Sherri's girls don't come ready to play UConn hard.

Having been (thankfully) all wet in my prediction for a dangerous game vs GT, I think the ladies continue the carnage with a pretty easy game 85-41. But with my recent record in these matters, y'all better watch out.

Like almost everybody says re: the actual score. But it may be ragged because they've spend the last two games getting sucker punched and hammered by Louisville and Georgetown - they won't be used to midwestern manners!!!
