So I'm looking at our schedules and projecting a few things.

1. UMass will likely go off of our schedules when they likely join CUSA in 2025. We can't waste September slots on them and they likely won't be able to play us in October or November.
2. The SEC will likely go to a 9-game schedule in 2026 so the Ole Miss series is likely off (Ole Miss plays 7 home games a year).
3. The 27/28 Army games will likely be cancelled.

With that out of the way, here is what we should do:

2025: The Central game should be moved to November. Assuming UMass if off the schedule, our open dates would be 8/30 and two Saturdays in November.

Need at least one more P4 games that year. My pick is Pitt. We would play the road game in 2025 and the home game at some point in the near future.
The last game would be a home game as part of a H/H series against either a MW or AAC in November.

2026: Possibly losing the UMass home game so need a replacement. We having openings on 10/17 and 10/24. Pitt has two openings. This is where we could fit in the home game.

2027: Assuming Army and Ole Miss are no longer on the schedule, we would need three games. Preferably two would be against P4 teams (both part of H/H series; one at home and one away) and the final game would be a home game against an FCS opponent.

2028: Assuming Ole Miss and Army drop off the schedule, we would have six games left to schedule. IMO, three should be against P4 teams (all part of H/H series), two should be against MW or AAC teams (both part of H/H series), and final game would be a home game against an FCS opponent.

2029: I don't think we will let Army get out of this year's game so we have five games scheduled. IMO, three more should be against P4 teams (all part of H/H series), three should be against MW or AAC teams (all part of H/H series), and the final game would be a home game against an FCS opponent.

CUSA schools do play OOC games in October and November so I think UMass will stay on the schedule. Here are some examples:

2023: Nov. 18: NM St./Auburn, Liberty/UMass
2024: Nov. 16: NM St./Texas A&M, Liberty/UMass, Nov. 23: LT/Arkansas
2025: Oct. 4: UConn/FIU, 11/1: Liberty/UMass, 11/22: WKU/LSU

LOL. I think we should play 13 P4 schools. All should be Home. They don’t want to play us, screw ‘em. We’ll call them wins. The other option is we go to CUSA, too.

If, and when UMass joins conference USA, they will be playing an eight game conference schedule, so there will be room for us on their schedule.

We should be playing one PAC 2 every year under a Home/Away schedule.

Got a wonder when this football program is gonna find a competitive conference? Instead of the yearly ass kicking that we get from every out of conference game, this is, and never will be a P5 program.

We should offer BCU, SU, Pitt 2 home games for one game in East Hartford. This will make it easy for those teams to schedule us and we will be playing teams that we should beat or at least win 2 out of 3 every year.

I have no issue with 2-1 for current P-4 schools but for the schools you mentioned I would try to get a 3-2.

It's actually a 2-2 with Duke: @Duke 2026 & 2030; vs. Duke 2025 & 2029 (this year's road game is the return from last year's home date)

I'm wondering how likely UMass to CUSA is. I would think UMass would still want to play UConn even if UMass joins a conference. And if that is a likely scenario, that would leave UConn and ND as the only remaining Indies. Something would have to give sooner than later.
