Saylor Poffenbarger! | The Boneyard

Saylor Poffenbarger!

She is with the Lynx and that is a tough roster to make. I am also hoping that Aubrey makes the cut there.

But the Lynx have played two exhibition games and Saylor has played the most minutes of any Lynx player in both games, 26 and 28. So Reeve definitely sees something and is giving her a shot.

Saylor is a good rebounder, especially on the defensive end. However, she is not a good 3-point shooter. On Sunday, she shot 2-10. She shot 36/29/74 for her college career. She needs to add 5-10 points to her 3-point percentage to make a roster.

The buzz around Minneapolis is, Coach Reeve is really high on that Poffenbarger supply and how could you not. She is the type of player Coach Reeve likes. She can stretch the floor. I mean Saylor is not a great shooter but with time and practice, she will get better. She rebounds, well, and that is the kicker. That is what is going to help the most. That ability to rebound and rebound well.

Aubrey is making some noise as well. Same with Nia Coffey. Coach Reeve and her coaching staff is going to have a hard time cutting the roster down to 12.

Why are we talking about her? She was here for 1 semester and then abandoned us.
I think "abandoned" is a bit strong. It was a crowded roster when she left with no clear path for her, and UConn turned out to not be a great fit for her. It happens.

I was happy that she carved out a successful college career at Arkansas and Maryland and would be very happy for her if she can stick in the WNBA.

Her life story resonated and created a bond with us as well.

I also think we generally root for players that have left - Mir, Q, Amari - there has been plenty of chatter about them on the board since they left. Certainly no animosity and plenty of discussion about Ice and Ayanna as well.
