Mek and I walked past each other on the street in midtown Manhattan a couple weeks ago.

It took me a couple seconds to place him, since he was in street clothes (obviously) and walking alone. It clicked when he was about 5 feet behind me. I didn't chase him down.

I was wondering what he was doing in NYC and (per the internet) it turns out that he's actually been rehabbing here the whole time. My understanding is that he plans on playing this season. He's only 31. If his neck is fine, he could have many years left.

I'd love for the Celts to sign him to a 1-year deal and give him the opportunity to show everybody that he's worth one more sizable contract. There aren't a lot of 6'10" guys who work inside the 3-point line and can walk and chew gum at the same time.

I read somewhere a while back that Mek has some real estate investments in the city.

Anyone that joins Miami while the Big 3 are intact is looking for the easiest road possible to a title which tells me everything I need to know about that player's intestinal fortitude.

What if they were to sign with San Antonio instead? Bet you wouldn't feel the same .

Yeah, he should sign with the least talented. Is that what you want? Really!

Why would you fly to Australia when you can just walk across the border to California and then swim across the Pacific it's so much more honorable, flying is taking the easy way out.

I had a similar experience with Nerlens Noel (at least I am 90% sure it was NN). He was in workout clothes walking into the Marriott East Side in May. Had breakfast with 4 or 5 suits.

Are you nuts? Ticket prices are the same whether you are watching championship caliber basketball or mediocrity

He's a Knicks fan - and a rabid one at that. Does that answer the question? I realize that people who are extremely stupid and the completely insane exhibit the same behavior, but for the most part even the insane avoid the dumpster fire in MSG.

If you're Emeka, and you've played in the playoffs once in 10 years, you jump at the chance to play on a contender - especially if they have a need for you. You probably don't want to go to the Pacers and be behind Hibbert and Bynum, for example. If the Heat happened to offer, they have a need for his skills - probably more so than any other contender out there. (Bulls have Noah, Thunder Ibaka/Adams, Clippers Jordan, Grizz Gasol). If you can help your own career, you certainly don't sit there and think "what will people think of my intestinal fortitude".

Of course, he has to get a clean bill of health and an offer. The Heat wasted a spot on Oden and probably aren't in a hurry to have someone sit in the training room all year.

I'm afraid I don't understand what you're talking about in regards to what I said.
