Saw Breanna go off for 41 points, 23 rebounds and six assists in an outstanding display of all aspects of her game. Her team beat Nazareth HS of NYC 80-55. At this level, she is clearly an extraordinarily dominating player.

As the first quarter came to a close, with about two seconds on clock. Breanna launched and made a shot from about five feet behind the half court line. She then reacted like she expected to make it. Clearly, the longest shot I have ever witnessed. I hope that Sports Center is able to pick up the shot.

Nazareth is no slouch---they were the state champs last year and play with two Syracuse recruits. They were ranked #1 pre season in the country and most recently were ranked 19th by USA Today.

Tomorrow, her team plays Murray Bergtraum, the NYC PSAL champ---which is ranked 8th in NYC. Naz was ranked numero uno in the city.

Thanks for the report. Damn, I hope that shot at least ends up on YouTube if not SportsCenter. Might I mention that play is also worth one more point than a woman dunking? :)

shakes65, I created another thread about this, but I'll ask it here: have you watched a lot of girls BB in New York? If so, who have you seen come up through NY's high schools, and where would you rank Breanna as a high school player relative to, say, Tina, Chamique, EPrince, Sue, anyone else you've had a chance to see?

Actually, 42 points, 23 rb, six blocks.

It's a New York Class AA tourney single-
game points record.

Breanna shrugs off the personal points.

Tied her own record for rebounds.

Nazareth is a big deal. Started the season
ranked #1 nationally, then coached by the
late Apache Paschall.

But this may have been its swan song game.

P.S. Somebody wondered in an earlier thread
how many blocks Stef might have "if she
could jump." Check out this vid of Breanna
blocking one off the ref's head.

What shouldn't be missed in that block is Breanna's jumping ability. She is a good 15-18" off the ground that plus her vertical reach is tough clearance.

Shake,
I went again today and the game was essentially over the first quarter. Cicero North missed a lot of easy shots the first quarter and it didn't matter. I must confess that at the start of the fourth quarter I felt misty-eyed as I was sitting in the Cicero section and their player of a lifetime's career was winding down. I wondered if they thought about it they were SO in the moment and then Brit Paul went out first & then Breanna and it was over. After the game I got to talk to Breanna, and I guess I'll say what's in my heart and you all can hopefully understand it. A GREAT player & person is coming, boneyard. There is nothing she cannot do and she affects every part of the game. Blocks shots. Intimidates. Rebounds well. Can help break full court presses. Hit every free throw the last 2 games. Hits the 3. Enjoy every minute.

Breanna finished her high school career with a win over Murray Bergtraum! Winning the State Federation Title. She scored 22 points, the Final Score was 62-28 I believe! I think she may have set scoring records, but to this kid, what matters is winning! List what Geno wants in a player/person and fill in the blank with Breanna's name:)
Next up are the All Star Games Mcdonalds next week and the other major All Star Game. You are only allowed to play in 2 and she will be joined by Morgan, and MO!

So Breanna won 2 State titles and the Federation title this year.

Moriah won the State title.

Morgan came up just short this year after winning 3 State titles previously.

Kaleena won her last 2 State titles, if I recall correctly.

And Kelly Faris has 1 post-season loss since 8th grade!

WINNING!
In a word, yes! :D

Your girl Kelly was playing as if possessed yesterday. Even aside from the 15 points, that may have been her best game as a Husky. I think she had pent-up energy after sitting with foul trouble. She was a 1-player wrecking crew.

Haven't found much in the way of videos of the States or Feds games for Breanna, but her one-on-one game at syracuse.com with her much shorter dad (in which he schools her big time) is a cheerful watch for old-guy dads. That whole series with co-star Dajuan Coleman from another local school about recruitment of HS basketball stars is a treat to watch again. And along with everything else, her eyebrows are just incredible.
