I'm just a casual fan of the women's team. I don't watch all the games but get into all the big games. I said it earlier in the season, I think Sarah Strong is going to be the best player UConn has ever had.

This is also the most fun team I can remember. So glad they're finally healthy or close to it.

Best all-around player on the team, and if she was a bit more experienced would be the best player on the team. She undoubtedly benefited from having Paige and Azzi during her freshman year to take the load off of her and allow her to "just play her game". I love our BIG 3!! I love the grit of this team and the cohesiveness of the players. GO HUSKIES!!!

For sure she’s the most skilled and fundamentally sound at this point in her career. 22 and 8 from a freshman in the final four is unreal, nevermind the lockdown defense she plays. Special.

Her hands are incredible. If the ball hits them, it sticks.
She is easily the opposing teams worst match up nightmare, a la Breanna Stewart. A small player she takes to the rim, bigs can't come up to the 3 point line to guard her.
Her reaction to what's happening in front her, steals, tips, etc are just a God given talent that you rarely see.
I am glad she plays for us.

I love the enthusiasm for Sarah. She is an awesome talent. And she benefits from all the attention opposing teams have to pay to Paige and Azzi. It will be interesting to see how she takes over the team Paige has built. I have very high hopes for next season. If Sarah is the next UConn GOAT, she will begin building her own team around her in the fall. Azzi, Blanca and the Havoc Twins are sure to be keys to it, and Jana (aka ‘Big Nika’) too. This will be a joy to watch.

Right now I wouldn't trade Sarah for any other player in the country. She is a great defender, great rebounder and can shoot from anywhere on the court. What will make her an icon though is her humility. I thought she would be okay when I saw her play in HS but she has really exceeded my expectations of what she would do in college and she is just getting started. She might be able to deliver a Stewie (a 4 peat)

The thing that is interesting to me is, how the rest of the country does not realize what a generational talent Sarah is. She is almost an afterthought on the current roster of star WBB players. UConn nation knows. It kind of aligns with the fact that UConn was a #2 seed. Huge underestimation of who Sarah Strong / UConn are. The momentum of anti-UConn bias (remember UConn is bad for the game) is evident. Oh well.

Sarah is on a different level than most Uconn players...

There have been a ton a great Uconn players, Buekers, Lobo, Rizzotti, Bird, Montgomery, Bria Hartley (my personal favorite Husky ever) etc...

But in my opinion there have ONLY been 3 players who were above just being a "great player"

These 3 had that "it" factor that made them once in a generation players...

Of course I am talking about Stewart, Maya and Diana....Those 3 had something extra besides being "great"..

Sarah has this too. I saw it the first time I watched her play....She just has that something extra that can't be coached...

I don't think so. The team will definitely take a step back next season without Paige, and we're not going to have much of a bench next season. Much of the rotation from this season will either be in the starting lineup or is moving on after the season. No one's going to feel bad for Geno trying to build a team around a core of Strong, Fudd, Shade, KK, and Jana, but make no mistake Paige is the straw that stirs the drink and there's no one with her leadership qualities on this team or coming to this team anytime soon.

Dad was a forward. Mom was a guard. She managed to blend the best of both positions and do both of them well.

At least 4-5x per game, I look at my husband and say, "how did she do, or know to do that?"

I agree. Paige holds things together more than people think. I also believe we will miss Chen’s leadership and calming influence. It will be interesting to see who steps up next year.
