Sarah Strong Named 2025-26 First Team All-American, Player of the Year by Sporting News

Sarah Strong joins Iowa's Caitlin Clark (2024) and USC's Juju Watkins (2025) as recent recipients of the award.

Congrats to Sarah on another well deserved Player of the Year award. I think she's 3/3 so far. Fudd also named a 2nd Team All American.

She must be one of the most humble superstars ever. With so many players out there (very good to great ones) self-promoting to the hilt, many of them with an edginess or attitude to boot, it's such a pleasure to see someone like Sarah. It makes me like and root for her evgen more, if that's possible! Go Sarah!

After reading the article, I’m not exactly certain that CBS has a formal award. They cite justifications from 3 different reporters fo POY, FOY, COY, not necessarily settling on any one individual. It reads more like a continuation of their picks at the start of the season.

It’s kind of like me picking POY. I pick Sarah too, although there’s no formal award. I will throw in a bowl of chili if that makes a difference. 😎
