Wasn’t his best night - got outscrapped a couple times and committed a couple bailout fouls when his initial defense was good. On the plus side, he also got his hands on a couple rebounds out of his area - which has been something that’s impressed me about him, given he’s not the strongest post guy out there. He goes and gets the ball with aggression. If he keeps that bulldog mentality he’ll be fine and give us sparks when we need them.

There are days your backup center might not have a big impact. Was true of Clingan last year too.

He oozes so much potential… so long and athletic, quick and active all the time . It’s unfortunate His development has been slowed by injuries and being behind great players but he has a great opportunity this year to get 10-12 minutes a game backing clingan. He could be a monster next year.

Samson is great for us. Would love to see him add muscle next year but he’s a good rim runner and quick up and down the floor. Tonight was a team effort.

He held is own against Ike who’s had a pretty good career albeit against lessor competition.

Not his best game, but had some very matchup. Had timely hoops and toughed it out to give Clingan enough rest, the hustle is always there.

It was not his best game, but every player has a bad game or two at least during a season. Let's hope this is his. He just seemed a step slower tonight.

TThe floor appeared slick in spots and it looked like he was having trouble with footing during the first half. Anyone know what shoes he is wearing? Is it different from the team?

Both Samson and Solo need to step-up on the boards. I'd like to see Solo start chasing every ball off the rim from a missed jumper Westbrook style, and not just stand behind the arc. For Samson, improving his ability to win position in the paint. They both play too many minutes not to improve on contributing in that area.

The next step in his development is to get a stronger base so he can box out more effectively and improve his rebounding numbers. He's not bad at it, but you can see he's got the potential to be better.

He needs to be warned about Delilah.

But really, not many teams have a back up big like him. He is pretty much what this team needs to give Clingan a rest. This team is so well balanced and deep enough.

We'd be scoring 120 if we clicked on every cylinder, every night... He'll have his nights and some nights will be someone else's.

Johnson had some tough matchups, but he hung in and picking up 4 fouls avoided Clingan from picking up fouls. He sayed in with 2 fouls in 1st half and avoided his 3rd which helped Clingan get through the half with 1 foul. Hurley managed Clingan minutes very well especially in 1st half.

A Hamilton like guy. He'll make a name for himself in his senior year. He stuck with it and it's paying dividends to both the team and his future.

He has yet to peak, which is scary. Looking forward to seeing him level up.

It's going to happen

Was this his best game? No. But it wasn't bad - and I think that's been a key factor this year, even our player's worst games haven't been terrible just average. With a team like ours we just don't need break out performances every game. I'm seeing Johnson's upside I was so cautious about believing in pre-season and I think he'll continue to improve. Dude's got bounce.

Let's just use the "he was under the weather" explanation and move on to Seton Hall. We're going to crush them. I can't wait.

He is more than good enough right now to play backup center role. He will get better with consistent playing time. We should expect ups and downs in his first year with real playing time. He has already had a couple games we he provided a huge boost of bench. Clearly Clingan is better and that is why Clingan is the starter, but Clingan should probably only play about 25 minutes a night to maximize his energy and maintain his health. It is pretty normal for players to struggle in their first games against good teams on the road. We are lucky to have such a good option at backup center.
