Not sure of Ray and Sam Sr's dynamic, I assume they're cool from the Milwaukee days, but something tells me Sam isn't the kind of guy Ray surrounds himself with. Then again, there was that tweet that Ray's 'hacked' twitter sent out...

They are also reportedly close friends. They were teammates multiple times (Celtics too). I think Allen helped recruit Sam to Boston.

When Allen returned to his Issaquah home, he had a message from former Milwaukee teammate Sam Cassell, who still remains Allen's close friend.

"The funniest message I got was from Sam Cassell," Allen said. "I won't use the language that he used but he basically said, 'Man that was a hell of a game to watch.' I have always been a big fan of his as well as he is a big fan of mine, but the fact that he watched a basketball game on his off day was a big compliment."​
