My favorite American player of all time (so far), Clint Dempsey (Deuce) retires. The only blemish on his record was playing for you-know-who.

Absolutely loved what Deuce brought to the field. I always felt that he was one of a very few Americans that no game was ever to big for him. A gamer, who played his best vs the best.

If the PL was on TV then like it is now, there wouldn't be a debate that he's our best ever. Guy was a savage for Fulham

Dempsey > Donovan

It's not even close on this. Dempsey was successful in the Prem, Donovan had a couple spot starts. Both played on the National team but Dempsey, imo, contributed more. Both played in MLS.

Dempsey should be remembered as the greatest UMNT player to date. Hoping Pulisic can replace that claim.

Club level, I agree hands down. Pulisic is playing at a higher level and better than Dempsey did while at Fulham. However, I want to see what Pulisic does in a World Cup. I am fairly confident he'll be great.
