So the NFLPA's stance is they're backing the players who participated in a bounty program with the intent to injure their fellow union members.

The NFLPA is opposing the league sanctions without prejudicing the reason. Unlike Saints Mgmt, they players will win the appeal to reduce the suspensions. Vilma will get 8 games.

I don't condone the bounty. But......when I played, we collected a "hit pool" that the team would contribute to every game for the biggest hit of the game. We did not call out specific players on the opposing team, but it was a big deal to us. I am willing to bet that there are more than a few former players on this board that did something similar.

Roger Goodell cares about nothing other than looking better than you. They probably won't win their appeals, because Goodell will appoint himself as the arbitrator again.
