We have a the 89th toughest schedule. BSU has played the 113th most difficult schedule.
Looking at the ratings, BSU is about 8 points above us and 2.1 points for home field.

RPI is nicer to us. They rank us 110 and BSU 122.
Our schedule is tougher in RPI s well they rate ours at 104, BSU at 210.
Yet RPI still predicts a BSU victory 27-18.

I think sagarin is using previous year data and I don't know if and when a switch will or should occur.

I looked at the Colley matrix ratings and we are in the 80s to 90s but they don't include fcs explicitly but rather more implicitly. Colley's method tends to over rate fcs schools when placed in the same bucket.

Either way the math is simple a "fair" system puts you above your wins and below your losses and sorts out the contradictions. Sagarin nor massey are currently doing that

I don't subscribe to the Athletic.

I always think these computer rankings are probably relatively good in tranches. #50-65 are all roughly comparable maybe and better than 66-80 but any 2 teams especially within a 10 spots of each other are likely not that predictable. 65 isn’t necessarily better than 72 on the field.
