Class of 2016 four-star defensive back Craig Watts of St. Petersburg (Fla.) Gibbs has nearly 20 offers, and to this point seven schools are standing out to him. Though he has no favorite, those in the mix are Ohio State, Florida, Mississippi State, North Carolina, USF, Indiana and Kentucky.

Can someone explain to me the "we can offer immediate playing time" approach to recruiting?

First, I presume every 4 and 5 star assumes they will see the field almost immediately;
Second, we do have kids playing those positions now - are we sure we want to tell a kid who has yet to go to his senior prom that he is better than what we have now?
Third, doesn't that make us sound third rate? Why go to a good school, when you can come here and play with those 3 other kids who just got off of the small bus in our defensive backfield.
