"UConn hasn't scored an offensive touchdown against a FBS team in 183 minutes, 49 seconds. Since Jordan Todman ran the ball in from 9 yards out and tapped the pile-on with the ball against Cincinnati.

South Florida: One touchdown (interception return)
Oklahoma: Two touchdowns (interception return and kickoff return)
Vanderbilt: Two touchdowns (blocked punt and fumble return)

(And don't forget we didn't score an offensive touchdown in the first half of the spring game)"

Will Iowa State be the game?

It's worse than that.

They haven't passed for a touchdown against an FBS team in 234 minutes 15 seconds (9:15 1st Q against Cincy).

It's amazing how your post count triples when things aren't going well.

As strange as it may sound, a game vs Vandy in early September isn't necessarily a projection of how our offense will perform in every game the rest of this season.

Yes. We'll score an offensive TD against ISU. Maybe even more.

I won't hold my breath.

Honestly, how can you even be so sure?

No offensive touchdowns vs USF, Oklahoma, and now Vandy.

At least in 2 of those games we had an NFL running back on our squad.

Hey, I'm not sure. Why were so many people sure we'd beat Vandy by 10-20 points? With unproven QBs?

But the difference between yesterday and Friday night (besides different opponent) is we'll be at home with our fans, and the offense & coaching staff will have a better idea of where the offense and QB situation stands. Hopefully they learned a whole lot more from yesterday, make adjustments, and try some new wrinkles.

We shall see. Imagine this same team but with Endres and Smith available.... I believe those two players would make all the difference in the world at this point.

Agree totally. And Robbie Frey. We could sure have used him last night. But with all this inexperience/youth on offense, it is going to be tough to find a way to score.

Endres, Smith, Frey and Meme. Our best returning WR, solid RB depth, last season's best ST player and likely our starting QB. Erik K could have been starting at guard as well.

Regardless, we move on.

You could have had Adrian Peterson back there and it wouldn't have mattered, when the entire defensive scheme is to stop the run it's a moot point. Fact is till we can pass the ball the RB's are at a huge disadvantage.

What of and could of don't matter. UConn has to play with who is here and not with those who left, were thrown off or failed to qualify.
