Sad news - SNY no longer has tv coverage after 2024-25 season (merged)

That's really sad news........I enjoyed the SNY coverage..........not as slick as ESPN but a perfectly enjoyable group of play-by-play and color analysts over the years...........I'm assume there will no longer be the UConn WBB-centric programming that we have all grown so accustomed to which is also disappointing.......

Their ends the individual broadcast coverage, by any former UConn. women basketball player !

Yes, they will be broadcasting WBB this upcoming season.

Yes, like many BY'ers will miss SNY commentators with game and color coverage.

One thing I have noticed about some of the other tv coverage is the amount of garbage talking during the course of the game. It is almost non-stop. In some cases the action on the floor is missed completely while they are talking about something unrelated and they have to go back and look at a replay. I hope that the producers take a critical look at past coverage and get it right. During a game we want to listen to what is going on the floor. Period.

Not likely. Garbage talk is almost a universal truth in wcbb. My solution is to sync up the radio call with the muted video feed. Way way better.

For those of us out of state, SNY was inconsistent with low value. Most of us that plan their weeks around the UConn games, paying a bit more for consistent coverage will be well worth it.

HopJim, can you further explain. I don't understand your statement. Does being out of stat make SNY inconsistent, or does SNY being inconsistent make you out of state? Or are you talking about the ability to receive SNY. It sounds like for you SNY was high value otherwise why plan your week around it.

I will say that it's wildly obvious that SNY is a UConn station, but what did you expect?

It would be nice someday to get precisely the channels that I want without the 500 channels I never watch. Haven't we been doing this long enough to grow to that level of sophistication? Unfortunately, with streaming becoming ever more popular, it seems we will be forced to subscribe to 3, 4, or even 5 services to get exactly what we want.
