Pine Manor sounds like a retirement community.

Congrats to the kid, though. 24 assists is impossible against any competition.

That's basically an assist every 1.6 minutes, continually. Insane.

I think we had something like 5 or 7 assists as a team a couple years ago.

He had 4 dimes and 7 turnovers against us, and went 0 for 4 from the field and 8 for 8 from the line.

D1 teams shouldn’t be playing D3 teams and if they do it should be no more than an exhibition and not count.

Eh, D2 barely exists anymore. The best D3 teams would give lots of D1 teams a serious run for their money. I have no problem with Sacred Heart playing a D3. Not too much different than us playing a terrible D1.

You think so? I watch a lot of D3 games, including NCAA Tournament games the last 2 years, because my son goes to a NESCAC school that was top 10 in the country all last season. That's supposed to be one of the best D3 conferences and I haven't seen any teams that could give D1 teams I've seen a game. Some of the guards can really shoot but I don't think in general they're athletic or quick enough to get their shots off against D1 players. They certainly wouldn't be able to guard D1 guards.

And D3 teams would get obliterated in the paint, both offensively and defensively. D3 teams typically have a couple kids in the 6-8 to 6-9 range but most of them aren't very athletic.

Give me some examples of D3 teams you think could hang with a bad D1 team. Because I saw most of the best D3 teams in the country last year and I just didn't see it.

There are some really bad D1 teams. The best D3 schools will lose to a Sacred Heart type school by 25-35 points most days. Pretty much the same gap as when we play Sacred Heart. The big difference is D2 basically going away. There are kids in D3 that could play D1 and kids playing D1 more suited to the old D2. Yes, a bad D1 team is prettier to watch than a good D3 team based on athleticism, but that D3 team can usually shoot, make free throws and turn the game into an ugly struggle.

Pine Manor was all girls until 2014 and had 320 enrolled students in 2017 lol.

It's also somehow 32% African American and 28% Hispanic with only 11% Caucasian and 3% Asian American despite being located in Brookline, MA, which is 72% caucasian and 15% asian.
