That's too small to be HEA's 12th. Too bad. Would be great if they made it their signature program and became the 12th.

Other Atlantic Hockey teams have built on campus arenas. Bentley just built one and AIC is planning on building one. It used be good enough for lower level conference teams to play in municipal arenas, but as said above these are the premier sports at the University. No football at BU, Northeastern. Other schools like Merrimack hockey is the only division one sport, the other sports are D2 or D3.
Another major advantage of having your own arena is you aren't having schedule battles with other tenants for priority.

The indoor shots look very similar to Colgate’s new arena. Definitely not big enough for HE.

Just food for thought, but if you are going to do a project like this, why not build a 4k seat arena and build for the possibility of a future HE invite. Just seems to me that they would be limited themselves to a permanent AH spot. 4k still wouldn't be the smallest in HE. Or, Maybe a joint effort with Fairfield if they were interested in upgrading hockey. If the Giants and Jets can share a NFL stadium, I think two great schools in the same town could figure something out. Just a thought outside the box.
You don't think they gave that thought? Bentley built a new rink that seats 1917. Army and Air Force's rinks seat around 2500.
Every school building oversized rinks in anticipation of a Hockey East invite would bad planning. Because only one school would be invited. Quinnipiac doesn't even want to join.
What most Atlantic Hockey schools are building are in line with some of the ECAC. A good chunk of the WCHA has rinks larger than most ECAC schools.
