During the game, they showed candid photos both teams had taken with Coach Dawn Staley. I loved to see it. I’m sure that photo will be a tangible memory of this once-in-a-lifetime experience.

She also provided them with some swag after the game from what I saw on social media. Small beauty kits or something similar. This team will remember this forever.

40 minutes to tip here in Iowa City for the Georgia Virginia game.

They opened the arena an hour and 45 minutes before the game which I think is smart. Interested to see how many Iowa fans show up for the first game. The Hawkeyes don't play until 3:00.

If possible the Iowa fan are nicer and more outgoing than those in Lincoln Nebraska.

I'm wearing my ASU gear and I've had at least a half dozen Iowa fans console me on the loss.

Number two Iowa player Jersey t-shirt is Wright.

The two best t-shirts I've seen so far

Shoot that Chit

and

I just entered the nil portal.

Virginia beats Georgia in OT. The real story however is the heat and I'm from Arizona. 88 outside and Carver Arena has no AC. It was super super hot during the first game and I'm guessing the Iowa game will be very uncomfortable.

No AC??? How is that even possible in this day an age with these facilities?

On a separate note, this Herky statue is unique. The passion in Iowa is something special.

On all fairness it's NEVER this hot in March here. The heat seems to be bothering Iowa more than FDU 27-26 at the half as the Hawkeyes are wilting. And it's cooler outside (due to a breeze) than inside.

The statute is a tribute to Lisa Bluter?!? Odd

Iowa fans took over Seattle for the Regional during Clark's junior year. I went to the Regional Final game against Louisville. All the Iowa fans I interacted with where very pleasant.

NGL, Iowa leading FDU 36-25 with 5 min left in the 3rd doesn't inspire much from a 2 seed.

I was thinking the same.

Regarding the heat, I get that, but it still seems odd that there isn't an AC system in a facility like Carver arena in this day and age. Unless it's a matter that the staff weren't prepared and it takes a while to kick in, I'm befuddled.
