No. 1 pick Ionescu signs Nike endorsement deal

The reigning NCAA national player of the year and the WNBA's No. 1 overall pick, Sabrina Ionescu, signed a multiyear endorsement deal with Nike.

"The money is important, but I think the vision and kind of the plan they have in place for me, and what I can do not only for the sport, but for basketball and society," she said of her priorities.

Ionescu was reported to have offers from Under Armour, Puma and Nike worth "multiple times her expected WNBA salary."

This is me just being nosy...but does anyone know why the dollar amount isnt disclosed like it is for most men's players? Women's overseas figures are also usually pretty secretive where numbers are published all over the place for men's basketball, NBA and overseas.

Sabrina will sell lots of Nike products, not exclusively shoes. She is a Nike athlete now. And... very well-paid for representing Nike. The question is how well paid.

I would assume that the other Oregon star drafted right behind her, Satou Sabally being German, will be a very well paid Addidas athlete. I also expect both Sabrina and Satou to sign fairly lucrative contracts with International/European teams as well.
