Who you can't cheer for and why:

Syracuse: obvious reasons.
Michigan State, Louisville, Cincy, Florida, NC State: would tie UConn with 3 titles
UNC: Roy Williams would tie Calhoun with 3 titles.
Kansas: Would surpass UConn with 4 titles.
Kentucky: The Squid, enough said.

Who you can cheer for and why:

Marquette: Big East team, only 1 title
Ohio: underdog
Xavier: no titles
Ohio State: only 1 title
Wisconsin: only 1 title
Baylor: 0 titles may be able to beat Kentucky
Indiana: 5 titles, but a solid, respectable blue blood program.

OSU is our best shot for having a non-nauseating winner. I really have no opinion either way on their program.

I'm disqualifying Xavier for their players' attitude/comments post-brawl. Didn't sit right with me. I hope someone 'zips em up'.

Nice summary, and agreed - one note though: anyone but UK is better than UK IMO.

Id be more then happy to see Roy Williams get #3 this year since that would mean Calipari still has 0.

How bout this, Cuse/UK in the finals. Ugly game where both teams look awful like they're trying their damndest to give the game away. Doesn't matter who wins. It is later discovered that many players on both teams were being paid to throw the game.

How bout they both lose their next game?

Just curious - what happens if the winner's season were vacated? Would the runner up be declared the winner or would there be no winner that season?

This seems like an obvious question that must've been posed at least once but I don't recall it having been.

OSU is vomit inducing. Their fans are so smug and superior because of the football program that I find it intolerable for them to have titles in hoops as well.

Marquette is #1, Indiana #2............would rather see LVille, Cincy and Cuse since it's good for the league before the many others.........can't stand Calimari/UK, Self/KU, Roy/UNC (best of those 3 though) but I'm okay with Izzo, good dude, likeable team they play like we should!!

I'm eliminating Baylor. They're women will most likely win it, and if their men do then UConn isn't the only school to have had both teams do it in the same year.

Unless the other womens teams are allowed to use some mens player to play against Griner because thats what she/he is a guy, would Geno ask AD or AO just to play against Griner in the FF if they were to face Baylor lol.

She has a size 17 mens shoe. She's a freak of nature at the very least.

I would like to see all 4 BE teams win. This helps the conference financially. However I will be pulling for Marq. Or Cincy. Cincy/Fl.St. Game was the best defensive game of the entire tournament so far. They both extended their defense well beyond the three point line and almost every shot was contended. Great win by Cincy.

This thread baffles me. I am not so insecure as a UConn fan to have to root against teams that are peers in order for me to feel better about UConn or due to perverse logic of thinking losses by peers makes the public perception of UConn higher. To me this is almost BCU-esque thinking. Generally speaking once UConn has lost it matters exceptionally little for UConn what anyone else does.

I'm a basketball fan and I like to watch good games and compelling teams. I'm not totally neutral and I do have trouble rooting for certain favorites such as MState and Kentucky*, but both are awfully good teams.

I will root for the underdog and the upset, but I won't be totally disappointed if its Kentucky - UNC in the final as those are clearly the two most talented teams and could make for an epic final game. With a great product (final game) all ships rise and so what's good for college basketball is ultimately good for all its teams.

* I can talk myself into a silver lining that if Kentucky wins college ball will likely be free of Calipari as I simply think he HAS to be cheating to get all the recruits he gets and they will never punish a blueblood like Kentucky, thus Calipari effectively walking around with diplomatic immunity is bad for college hoops.

The way Cal recruits now with no title, if he wins it all he'll bring NBA players to uk.

We've already decided. This board is cheering for the Marquette Warriors.
