Rutty losing a bunch of winnable games to become an anchor on the conference's computer rankings, and then beating the best team in the league that is ranked #1 is about as Rutty a thing to do as I can think of.

We haven't been #1 during the season all that much, have we? We lost to Kansas the first time. Then the first half of 98-99. When else? I'm asking, I don't remember any other times.

I remember this game. I was in the stands wondering how things had gotten so bad. Me and the guy next to me decided it was time to start emailing Benedict and force him to address the situation of the men’s program spiraling into irrelevance.

Yep - which is exactly how we want it. Playing lots of tough close games prepares you for the post season.
But the AAC is just as good and this is the “new”Big East so it doesn’t count
