1. it's Rutgersnot a pretty game
But other than that, how is it?What a horrible game. Just disgusting, one turnover after another.

Our #3 seed isn't looking too bad right now. I'd rather play one of these teams than Louisville, who, correct me if I'm wrong, St. John's is playing tomorrow.
Louisville fan here, if you haven't noticed.. I am wondering who you guys would prefer in the semis - Louisville or St. John's. I think you guys will be able to handle both teams by about 10 - 15 points. You guys will likely slaughter Rutgers tomorrow night! Those girls didn't even seem like they were trying out there!!
Always be careful for what you wish.
totally disagree... Rutgers made shots and Marquette didnt. Monique was a loadSo, the first day of the tournament was great - competitive, hard fought, well played games. The second day starts the same way. I'm thinking: maybe the pundits have it right - WCBB really is improving. Then it happens: Rutgers takes the court. In what was a mega stinker, Rutgers vanquishes Marquette by shooting a scintillating 32% from the field to Marquette's 29%. But those percentages cannot describe (I cannot describe) how bad the game was. After seven well played games, I wonder how the officials can abide a contest where "defense" consists of grabbing, holding and complaining to the officials. Rutgers did what it does best and Marquette permitted itself to be either mesmerized or intimidated by the Rutgers style. In any event, we had a game that set back WCBB by at least 5 years.
I'm with DC on this one. NONE of the games today were "scintillating" from an "excellence in WCBB" perspective. Nether Syracuse nor WVU looked like they REALLY wanted to win, and Ieasia Hemmingway is the worst (most over-hyped) player i've seen in a while. awful AND lazy.
she actually disappeared to the locker room in the middle of the game for 5-7 minutes (didn't appear to be sick and went on her own with no trainer), only to return and be put back in the game. she was more interested in fixing the straps on her jersey or tucking the bottom of her shorts into her tight biker shorts underneath than she was in playing any kind of defense or moving without the ball on offense.
she sure did spend time ordering the other players around tho. Syracuse is just not a good team. anyhow, how WVU ever beat ND is beyond me as they were barely better than the orange.
Depaul and USF was entertaining - Depaul jumped out to several leads of 10 or so, only to have USF claw their way back, but Depaul eventually prevailed. with 7 players suited up, Depaul packs their bags after their game vs. ND tomorrow.
L'ville looked like the "best" all around team i saw today. but that's not saying a lot, really. I love Harry, but HE sets the game back 5 years every time his team takes the floor. the most boring kind of basketball i've ever witnessed on a consistent basis. at least Harry is entertaining- he's like a caricature of himself, and that's saying something.
And Marquette slightly outplayed RU for about 30 minutes, then fell apart and forgot how to score in the paint and jacked up 1 desperate three after another. Oliver was a beast and RU played some tough D down the stretch.
one thing about RU that sort of mystifies me - Canty was a top 10-15 kid, no? she got in for the last 30 seconds of the game. i wonder why so little PT for her.
ah makes sense. thanks! well nice win. i thought Rushdan had a really nice game too and while Speed and Wheeler were inconsistent, Speed especially was vocal and quite the leader out there...Canty has played alot of minutes this season, the past I'd say 4 games or so I've heard she's been struggling with a knee injury and she also missed a game with a stiff neck. So I'd say it's because of her sore knee.
