The constant dragging of RU football through the mud...dumping on upon dumping on has to make you wonder about what the mission is for those papers. Do they back them through the good times...or just always look for dirt? Not that RU doesn't bring it on themselves...

Oh, it's clearly PayBIAMutherF...

From last year - Julie Hermann: It would be 'great' if The Star-Ledger went out of business

>>...because this is the same woman who stood up in front of a class of journalism students a few weeks ago and said it would be “great” if the newspaper died. No, really. Great. That was her word. The Rutgers athletics director, in a wide-ranging discussion with the class, was talking about her own rocky introduction with the media in New Jersey when … well, here is the exchange:

“If they’re not writing headlines that are getting our attention, they’re not selling ads – and they die,” Hermann told the Media Ethics and Law class. “And the Ledger almost died in June, right?”

“They might die again next month,” a student said.

“That would be great,” she replied. “I’m going to do all I can to not give them a headline to keep them alive.”<<

For opposing fan bases though, it's kinda like the people who stop to watch us work @ an MVA -- they can't help themselves but look even though they know it may be tragic and innocent people may be hurt.;)

If a bunch of guys get thrown out of school it affects the GPA. Schiano's teams also consistently had very high academic scores. A bit of a non-story compared to the others if you ask me.

Not sure those have even hit yet... this is Spring 2015. Those will affect APR?

I think I will just spike the football to stop the clock on 4th down.
The kid should have had situational awareness, however he is only a sophomore. Interim HC Willie Nelson maybe could have helped him out a little bit.

Well, as if Kyle Flood was in need of one more nail in the proverbial coffin....

All this yet kids still go there because they are a P5 conference team...

You know a lot of this goes back Mike Rice and Barchi throwing Pernetti under the bus. Pernetti managed media relations much, much better. Hermann has been a nightmare from day 1.

This is exactly what happened to Calhoun's UConn team except instead of being thrown out of school they left early for the NBA.

It's a story because it's going to drag down their APR, which could get them in trouble in the future.

Also, it's news because of Rutgers' vaunted AAU status and why they are supposedly a notch above UConn in academics.

Rutgers football, good times? What's that?
