Rumor on big 12 & BE football merger

Also the big 10 may look past non aau school and the sec looking very hard at killing or weakening the acc with NC St and VT as possible targets.

Lastly the acc making it's choice by tomorrow, who knows.

Big East/Big 12 merger? Something big must happen for that like the whole TexaHoma and their little brothers to the PAC 12 thing. Like you said who knows. Just hoping UConn comes out okay here, sooner rather than later. I'm starting to hate refreshing this page.

Whatever move is next, rest assured, it ain't the last. We'll probably get an ACC invite (maybe ville too) but the ACC we join could change pretty quickly. I think it's also fascinating that the Big 12's GOR may have a back door. All we have heard is how ironclad it was but if Tex, TT, OU and OSt join the Pac there will be a lot of unclaimed pieces on the board.

On the one hand I'm sick and tired of all this and just want a safe landing spot for UConn. On the other hand all of this stuff is fascinating. However, it would be more fascinating if there was some kind of consistency. There seems to be more grabbing than reasoned expansion. I'd rather watch JP Morgan as opposed to Donald Trump.

How much money would ESPN gives the Big 12 if it were to take UConn, UL, Cincy, USF, Houston, and Temple? That's six teams, and the Big 12 is distributing ~ 20 million per team per year, so ESPN must pay 120 million to make this worthwhile.

This ties out with the rumor about Texahoma being able to escape the GOR. The Big 12 is being proactive.

B12 at 10 teams now...any defections will hurt. The BE is left with 5 including Temple, who I don't think gets an offer. That leaves only 4 BE teams, UConn, Ville, Cinn and USF. Yes, they could try for BYU, but unless they poach the ACC, who is left to chose from?

Right now everyone BUT the B1G, SEC and PAC 12 are vulnerable.
