Rule Change Could Impact Saturday's Game

It's an intentional decision by Diaco to out this in the press prior to the game. Expect BD and his staff to be all over the crew on Saturday about calling this penalty.

BD working refs leading up to a game? Interesting.

This is a rule that needed to be changed. Coaches have been calling for it for a decade but rules folks have hesitated to modify it because it would hurt the Academies more than anyone else. Safety finally overcame politics. Let's hope the refs call it it don't hold your breath at Navy.

Neither Army nor Navy had the penalty called on them this weekend.

For what it is worth Navy had 2 penalties for 16 yards.

More reason to believe Diaco did this on purpose. I am confident the UConn staff was looking at Navy highlights from week 1 and noticed blocks that should have been called penalties under new guidelines.

So, you put it out in the paper's four days prior. I wouldn't be surprised if UConn hasn't sent film to the AAC officiating office to highlight blocks against Fordham that should have been penalties.

Gamesmanship from BD?! What's next? In game clock management?
