Well this thread is about the most talented player and whether you hate him or not LeBron James is the most talented player in the NBA. I do not like LeBron at all but it is quite obvious he can do anything and everything over the course of a basketball game.

Thats because Rudy is much more athletic and talented overall than Carmelo. He just lacks that assertiveness and killer mentality that guys like Kobe and Carmelo have

Rudy is definitely more talented than Melo, as he was able to take a team on its back and win an NCAA championship!

Lebron doesn't carry teams? Tell me what the Cleveland Cavaliers record was last year compared to his last year there again...
LeDouche's Miami Heat just lost their 3rd in a row. Go check the Bulls/Celtics/Lakers/Pistons dynasties. Let me know when you find Magic or Bird or Jordan or Thomas with a 3 game losing streak during their great years.

Le has Wade and Bosche and a good supporting crew and he can't get it done because, while he has physical talent, he is not a "great" basketball player in the manner of those listed above.

Also didn't hurt that 'Melo was playing with a still aching groin/back, sprained his wrist in opening min of game, then his ankle at beginning of 3rd and left the game. Wouldn't say owned...Rudy's the best of the 2nd level of NBA talent behind guys like Kobe, Lebron, Melo, D12, CP3, D-Will, Wade, Dirk and Rose.

I don't know what you consider their great years, but I'm pretty sure those teams have all lost 3 in a row at least a few times in their "dynasty" stretches.

I am not a LBJ fan by any stretch so I will be a little bummed out when he gets title #1 but some of you guys will be seriously butt hurt when he's getting fitted for multiple rings.

Rudy on a great day is pretty much Kevin Durant's average.

And that's more of a compliment to KD as it is a slap against Rudy.

Kevin Durant is probably the best pure scorer since George Gervin. There literally isn't a spot on the floor inside of 30' where he isn't a threat.

Lebron is the most physically talented player in the NBA. He is not the most "gifted" basketball player. There is a difference. Kobe is 33 years old and scoring 40 points in 3 straight games, and killing teams in crunch time. Lebron can never hope to do that especially not in the 4th quarter or in close games because he doesnt have a great post game or a good mid range game. He also doesnt have the killer instinct that Kobe has at all times. Lebron's shot is average as well to put it lightly. Lebron has gotten to where he is based on physical greatness and athleticism not being a great all around player which is why he shrinks in big moments when defenses force you to shoot jumpers to beat them. When guys like JJ Barrea, Jason Terry, Shawn Marion, etc are making you look bad in the 4th quarter there is something obviously lacking in you.

I will cut him some slack though because Spoelstra is not a good coach and you can't win with guys like him who dont have any authority or personality to control big time players.

Sorry...greatest player in the NBA ever= Michael Jordan;
Greatest player in the NBA today=Kobe Bryant
Best UCONN alum in the NBA=Ray Allen

I don't think that you can consider LeBron, a guy who consistently disappears in the 4th quarter, the best in the league. Maybe someday, but not now. Rudy may be one of the elite some day, but he's not there yet....

Lebron has won the eastern conference player of the week twice already this season and up until recently was leading the league in scoring. He's been to the finals with multiple different teams, putting him in the same company as Shaq, Rasheed Wallace, Jason Kidd and Dennis Rodman to name a few. He hasn't won one yet, he has time.

Patrick Ewing, Charles Barkley, Reggie Miller and a few other bonafide hall of famers never won an NBA championship, are you saying they weren't great?

I hate the Heat but to say Lebron isn't a great player is stupid, especially the way he's been playing this season.

LeBron has no mid range game?

Well how about this "according to NBA.com's StatsCube, LeBron made 45 percet of his midrange jumpers this season, which is an incredibly efficient mark for a high-usage perimeter player. Paul Pierce made 44 percent of his midrange jumpers. Kobe Bryant made 42 percent. Derrick Rose made 40 percent. Dwyane Wade, 40 percent. Kevin Durant, 42 percent. Carmelo Anthony, 42 percent." Then this beauty. "Ray Allen shot 46 percent, barely edging out LeBron. Statistically speaking, out of all the high-usage perimeter players in the league, LeBron was the best midrange shooter not named Dirk Nowitzki (Dirk shot 53 percent -- he's a freak)." So LeBron has the third best mid range game of all players in the NBA, and second best of the high usage players.

No killer instinct? How about when LeBron scored 29 of his teams last 30 points in the 4th quarter and OT in the eastern conference finals against the Pistons 5 years ago?

LeBron has an average shot? Lets look at his season and career FG/3PT/FT percentages.
LeBron 2011-2012: 57.8%/30%/73%
LeBron career: 48.1%/32.9%/74.4%
And those numbers come from shooting over 20 shots a game.

LeBron relies on physical greatness and not basketball skill? Well, LeBron James is currently the second best in PER this year and just fell off the pace to have the greatest PER season of all time. LeBron also holds either 2 or 3 of the top 5 PER seasons of all time as well.

Finally, in the playoffs LeBron shoots 41.7% on game winning or game tying shots, while Kobe only shoots 28%. How about that?

for making me defend LeBron.

You can't be serious with these stats lol. According to you because Lebron shoots 41.7 % percent on game winning or game tying shots, while Kobe only shoots 28% then that means you would take Lebron in crunch time because he is better according to your stats? lol.

Lebron also had a meaningless triple double in Game 6 of the NBA finals last year which had no impact on the game but it does look good on the stat sheet. Listen I like Lebron as a player but I just think Rudy has better potential than him, and hasn't reached his potential yet. Lebron is maxed out and looks like a 40 year old man out there.

You could argue Kevin Durant being the most talented player in the NBA he might be the best player right now, I still think Kobe is the best player in the NBA until someone takes that throne from him. Kobe is closer to Jordan than Lebron is. Lebron hasnt even surpassed Kobe let alone Jordan. Rudy has the potenial to be a superstar.

I hate LeBron and I hate Kobe, but I respect Kobe. I really have no opinion on this subject, I just felt like debunking some myths people carry in their views of the NBA.
