Dirk has been down but last year he won a championship without a another star on the team.

Rudy should have made it.

There are not many off days this season, something tells me a lot of players would like to be in his position.

A lot of you sound quite partisan when you complain about things like this. Statistically, this has been one of Rudy Gay's weaker seasons in recent years (and with Randolph out, the Grizzlies were supposed to be his team).

NBA's a joke - Pierce made it too? He is still a decent player but his all-star days are well behind him!

You're just saying that because his scoring avg is down 1 point. He is making smarter and more clutch plays. He is finally a team leader and he is keeping his team in the playoff hunt without Zach Randolph.

As upset as i am Rudy didnt make it the fact Kyle Lowry was left off the West All Stars is a joke kid is having an unbelievable year. Hes the 3rd best pg in the West behind CP3 and Westbrook the fact Nash was chosen over him is a joke, averaging 15 points 8 assists and 6 boards and he doesn't make the all star team please.

I think there's something missing with Rudy. I always liked the person, but never really loved his game. He's a scorer no doubt but I don't see him as a winner. I guess I'm just not a big Gay guy.

Um, have you looked at his numbers lately? Compare them Melo, who's (somehow) starting the game.

Pierce: 34:17 mpg (22 games), 18.4 ppg, 5.8 rpg, 5.7 apg, 3.0 tpg, 1.0, 0.5 bpg, 42.1% FG, 39.2% 3-point FG, 83.3% FT

Melo: 34:17 mpg (22 games), 22.3 ppg, 6.0 rpg, 4.2 apg, 1.1 spg, 0.4 bpg, 39.9% FG, 29.7% 3-point FG, 82.7% FT

And Pierce's numbers since January 22 (right around when Rondo got hurt) have been some of the best of his career. I'd say he belongs.

Nash and Lowry both are averaging 15 points and Nash is averaging 2 assists more than Lowry (10-8). Lowry is averaging 3 more rebounds per game. That right there looks pretty similar, I wouldn't say that Nash making it over him is a joke.

Now take a look at their relative efficiency. Nash is shooting 57% from the field and 45% from 3! (17 % points higher than Lowry) That is unreal for a PG to shoot so effectively - that is the 3rd best field goal % in the NBA. I actually think Nash is having the best year of any point guard, East or West. I am not trying to be douchey, he is just my favorite player.

After shaking off the rust from the injury you could make a very serious case for Pierce as an MVP candidate this season, he's absolutely carried the Celtics thus far. To whoever said he doesn't belong please, over his last 11 games Pierce is averaging 22 points 7 assists and 7 boards he's clearly all star worthy.

You make a good case for Nash, but id still take Lowry as an all star this season. Nash is a more efficient offensive player, but Lowry gives more of an all around game. He averages 2 steals a game 5th in the league and as stated before he'll give you more rebounds than Nash. Not to mention Lowry is a far better defender than Nash, and he averages less turnovers per game. I guess it comes down to what you look for in a player as these two give you two different sides of the spectrum. Your right my statement being that it is a joke is over the top,it's nothing against Nash he's a fun player to watch but its just my feelings of Lowry not making it as hes been fantastic this season.
