As an outside observer, I have to say I 100% agree with you. OTH, I will admit the poster talking about men's basketball is probably correct, although I con't watch that carefully. The thing is, teams are "names" on the men's side. Most of the women's teams were "names" in the '80's, if then. And then came UConn's success and, there went, for the most part, Providence, Villanova, Seton Hall, Georgetown and St. John's success. I'll also add - facilities, facilities, facilities. Rutgers actually has a really decent recruiting class scheduled to come in to a program that - at least significantly - isn't what it once was. Due to facilities, in this case, practice ones. The fact that money is not all that plentiful at these schools caps what gets devoted to women in the BE. The teams mentioned, as was said earlier, don't play in very good arenas. The men do - for at least some / most of their games. So I don't expect these arenas to see many upgrades. For those UConn fans who, for whatever reason, haven't done it - go to Walsh Gym or MacDonnough Hall if you get chance. They are truly relics of a different age.
