Right now our best lineup is AD,RS,JL,SN,RB this lineup is good against the zone and rebounds well. i think if AO wasnt such a sulker coming off the bench he`d be excellent teamed up with TO of the bench. i think these two combos complement each player the best. RS playstyle works well with AD and AO skillset works well alongside TO.

I tend to think better lineup is with Oriakhi in there over Drummond, but toss up. For all of Alex's struggles, I still think he brings more to the table and he has the earned it factor. Drummond is a wild card out there - athleticism is great and produces numbers, but he's still so out of position and non understanding of what to do with the basketball in any sense of offensive flow - I think there is a lot of compensating in the fluidity of how the team plays to make up for his rawness.

Somewhat moot though as the 6 man rotation that should be gobbling all the minutes is the 5 there and Alex, rotating from the 2 PG lineup, 2 C lineup - what we saw today. That what we saw today was how the identity of this team should have been established a long, long time ago.

Tyler averaging more fouls than minutes today is a trend in the wrong direction.

I completely agree with your point with AO but hes just been soo terrible this season that i think we`re better off with AD starting because he can jump over defenders for ally oops without losing the ball out of bounds and he has rebounded and defended better than AO all season imo.

roscoe was great today, loved it and i think if he can continue to get his game together like he has lately then it really helps our chances of winning a couple more games in march. i look forward to 30 minutes of tough guy play out of him this week, its lik he got that black eye back or something.

one thing though, everyone here talks about how he shouldn't have been benched earlier in the year. i'm pretty sure that the benching was due to bball things(game play/practice). i think he skipped a few classes and was punished for that by not starting a couple games(small pt overall) and from there that funk began. at the same time earlier in the year lamb was hot from 3, we were winning, dd was hot shooting also and boat was going through the whole ncaa thing so i think the scoe sitting wasn't really made clear/overlooked by the media. as result of his small punishment and a couple guy getting hot he went into a funk and lost pt for a while that he had to slowly earn back. it was softly mentioned in a random espn article at some point early this year but the player name wasn't given. based on who played and when this year it was clearly scoe if you were a uconn fan knowing everything going on with this team.

I love Roscoe's energy and toughness on D. He definitely should start as what most ppl here agree with. The last 4 games has been a good stretch, let's hope he can keep it up.

Couple of things he needs to work on (probably offseason) ... his lazy passes are always advertised. There's just been so many times his passes are stolen or poorly placed. His dribbling scares me too...every time he puts it on the floor, there's a favorable chance it's a turnover. Consistent shooting...not much need to be said beyond this.

The kid has been working hard no doubt and it shows. Props to him for never hanging it up and always giving his best effort. With these areas improved, Roscoe will be NBA ready.

Roscoe does everything this team lacks. Rebounds, plays hard defense, and hustle. He took a charge that I haven't seen anyone else take all year. So glad that he is coming along because we need him.

On the way back from the game I caught something to like this. I think it was from Blaney. "That was the first charge I think I saw us take in six months. We don't practice it because we try to get position to block the shot" or something to that affect. I was shocked by the comment since we have been getting burned down the lane all year.

Roscoe played a nice game. He is about the only one on this team who has show some progress from last year. Good hustle too.. I hope he comes back next year with an xtra 20 lbs of muscle and be more of a 4. Like a G Monroe type.

Many yarders have beat up on Bazz but I think he has shown a lot of improvement also. I am convinced he was hurt for a stretch of the season that hampered his movement.

I think with Roscoe, its less about development and more about simply given a chance. With scoe on the floor, the dynamics of this team are completely different. he brings length, atheleticism, energy, and speed that really makes the team flow so much better on both ends. for the first time all year, i really feel with yesterday's lineup that this team can go on a run. guys are smiling, playing hard, playing together, attacking the rim, etc.


ps.. just checked the box score of the wvu game and scoe played a whopping 3mins........um, mr.kevin jones, i'd start to worry if i were you!

Roscoe was not the same player early in the season. Has nothing to do with him not being given a chance. He was extremely problematiic on the offensive end. Not only could he not drive without charging or traveling, but he seemed to lack the smarts to recognize it.

I certainly love his improvement recently! If we make a run, he will be key.

Of course Roscoe should be starting I have said that since day 1.

While we all agree that Smith has brought renewed vigor to the team, and should be on the floor the rest of the way, as much as possible, let's not revise history here.

Go back on ESPN3 and watch some of the early games - Scoe was plain awful. Don't forget that. He was lost, he took horrible shots, his defense wasn't outstanding . . . in short, he looked shell shocked. Giving Daniels a chance to blossom made a lot of sense at that point.

Now that Roscoe has finally decided to play like he did last year, with a bit more, and Daniels has shown that he is not ready for prime time, and Giffey has shown that he'll play hesitantly when he plays and not have confidence in his own shot, Roscoe is the easy choice.

Nappier played well yesterday - still a couple sets where he did his overdribbling and a couple errant shots, but played an nice overall game. A couple things on Nappier - 4 steals, was actually disruptive on defense. That's the kid we saw last year. Flip side - when he hits a couple shots, he gets ahead of himself and gets greedy - needs to pick his spots and not just think he has to shoot to shoot.

more than what his stats suggest, napier played yesterday with that chip on his shoulder, always in attack mode, and the aggressor. he had energy, maybe brought back by calhoun. the last few games it was like he was deflated, almost as if he didnt even want to be there.
