I was surprised they are taking the train. It's in an article in the Courant so there's the proof it's true.
Both Braylon Mullins and Tarris Reed Jr., who’ve been dealing with their own respective ankle injuries, were able to participate this week before the team takes the train into New York City on Thursday to avoid holiday traffic.

lot's of Big Ten alumni in NYCpeople were saying the Illini would show up in big numbers for the Elite 8 game in Boston… having attended, it was 90% UConn fans… as Rick Pitino has said, UConn has one of the best traveling fanbase (second only to Kentucky). Should be another home game for UConn.
Only Illinois alumni would cheer for Illini. I dont think other B10 fans would, lile Purdue, Indiana... but yes agree B10 has fans. I saw plenty of indiana fans, msu had some, and Purdue has a big following. Regardless this is still our backyard.lot's of Big Ten alumni in NYC
of course - point being there's definitely a sizable Illinois footprint in the metro region.Only Illinois alumni would cheer for Illini. Agreed, Illinois is a huge school so they have a decent amount of alumni in NYC but like 80% of Illini students are in state and most of them end up in Chicago. They will stand out because they'll be decked out in orange but UConn fans should greatly outnumber them.people were saying the Illini would show up in big numbers for the Elite 8 game in Boston… having attended, it was 90% UConn fans… as Rick Pitino has said, UConn has one of the best traveling fanbase (second only to Kentucky). Was New Haven line at the South Norwalk stop. Switched over to Stamford local which was clutch.Which train?
All true. I'm sure there are a decent amount of Illinois alums in the NYC area but UConn has to have a lot more just because of proximity. Plus we're the adjacent state. I don't think that many Illinois fans in the midwest are traveling to NYC the day after Thanksgiving. We'll see but I'm expecting UConn having a big advantage in the stands today.Only Illinois alumni would cheer for Illini. At least 75/25 UConn fans. For people who were there, what was the assessment on the split between UConn and Illinois fans? On TV it seemed predominantly UConn fans. Just like in Boston for the BYU game.
Yes, I agree maybe even 80/20 UConn. It wasn’t a sell out, to my eye maybe 80-85% full but it was decidedly UConn! At least 75/25 UConn fans.
Yeah it could have been 80% UConn. Pleasantly surprised by the turnout.Yes, I agree maybe even 80/20 UConn. It wasn’t a sell out, to my eye maybe 80-85% full but it was decidedly UConn!

When Stewie hit that 3 the place eruptedIllinois fans are easy to spot in their Orange. I'm sure glad I don't have to wear orange, although it does look good on the Clemson cheerleaders
But it's about the noise, and we owned the building. It's tradition
I was having too much fun
The upper decks looked to be at 60% compacity. The rest looked to be packed aside from those two empty rows about 12 rowes above the Illini bench.Yes, I agree maybe even 80/20 UConn. It wasn’t a sell out, to my eye maybe 80-85% full but it was decidedly UConn!
