I personally wondered why he chose #44 at UCONN and then I stumbled across this article. The article itself is about the number change of Dez Wells, who recently switched from 32 to 44. Wells and Purvis were AAU teammates 4 years ago with the CP3 All-Stars when one of their teammates and best friends, Detrique Baker passed in a car accident. Baker wore #44.

Gotta say I'm moderately disappointed you are one of two people who have clearly got the reference

I got it. Slight tweak to it I noticed. Inspired me to listen to All Eyez On Me as I mowed the lawn this morning.

Whenever someone be like " rapper is the best!" my response is always "okay that's great but did they or did they not write All Eyez On Me?"

And that's the end of that conversation hahaha

Could not agree more. Best rap album ever made. Speaking of which just listened to Illmatic start-finish. Top 5? Either way, what else you got at the top of your list?

Ahhhhh I just did too!

Just 5? Obviously that's tough but just the first 5 that come to mind

Scarface for that sick southern flow, The Diary is one of my all time favorites
Immortal Technique because he's the best lyricist of all time
Tupac because All Eyez on Me
Snoop Dogg because that dude can rap about almost anything over almost anything and make it entertaining, at least for me
Chuck D

But Nas definitely has to be up there. Honestly I've mainly only listened to Illmatic so I'm not the best one to rank him all-time.

Rock, you posted on a Friday night. Gotta wait more than than a few hours over the weekend for other people to chime in.

Tupac > Biggie over here.

I'm more of a Pete Rock and CL Smooth kind of guy. Or Eric B and Rakim. Though those are duos.

Supernatural freestyle!

I saw Snoop on 'So you think you can dance' (roommate was watching) the other night. I don't think there's a moment he's never been cool as duckck.

He's way too stoned 24/7 to give a duck hahaha

No doubt. The second he walked on the stage, it was like, damn, that dude is cool as duckck. And this is a guy I was listening to religiously in high school.

nas, big, pac, jay, guru.....honorable mention to Ghostface, GZA, Dre, Rakim, KRS-One and Eminem (Slim Shady LP Eminem) also Common when his name was Common Sense
