If we just give Shirreff the job without competition that would be a big mistake.
You need competitors to have a competition......

I know that we love the backups and unknowns on this board, but IMO if we are playing Peart and Davis we are in for a long year. I know both OT's struggled last year but I do not feel comfortable with a green LT next year.
I think the biggest impacts could be on the defensive side of the ball. Kids like Okunaum and Blackwell on the line, Williams at LB, and Terry at S.
I'm still high on Diggs. I like a 4 man rotation with him, Carrezola, Joseph, and Levenberry. Hopefully they redshirt Tarbutt after foolishly playing him last year.
I'm curious to see how we go about utilizing Lee, Holman, Parker and Campbell. With Myers, Bloom and Williams as the top 3 only 1 of them will likely stick at TE. I think we should move Parker back to his natural position of DE, groom Lee for OT and then I'm not sure between Holman and Campbell which one should move where.

I want to keep Marder in a reserve role
him and mayala(?) were used pretty frequently this year, I would imagine their roles will only expand from last year.Have we heard anything on Frank Battle? I know we beat out Syracuse for him and he's 6'5". I haven't seen anything in the media about him, though.

i agree, i was excited to see beals get on the field but mayala got a lot more looks as the year went onBeals, Mayala, and McLean were the only true frosh who saw time. I was puzzled that Battle couldn't beat them out given (as JMick said) his reputation out of HS and his size. But we shall see how it shakes out. I have a feeling that HCBD really likes Mayala, given how many targets he seemed to be getting compared to Beals and McLean during the second half of the season.

ah yes, I meant bealsBattle was a redshirt...
Roster management... I believe he was a planned redshirt w/ the number of WR on roster. This in theory would allow them to RS another WR who saw time last year of needed. I've heard/seen nothing negative.
Maybe you were also referring to the other 6'5 true frosh WR Aaron McLean. He got some burn.ah yes, I meant beals
Beals, i think, just needs to get a little stronger. He's got solid hands, could be great if he puts the work in.just needs to get stronger first. They must love Mayala because I thought Beals looked great to start the year and about half way through Mayala took his spot.
