Sorry about posting bad information, but ESPN listed that as Skylar's FG%, not her 2-pt. FG%. Since when does FG% imply only 2-pt shots? Weird. But the WNBA link you provided was interesting, as it revealed how much Skylar is improving her shot (or shot selection) as the season progresses:

25.6% in May
31.7% in June
33.3% in July
37.5% in August
39.4% in September.

Really great stats on that site.

Now, I'm not trying to put her down. I am just looking more closely at the numbers.

She did improve some as the year went on. She had such a slow start, she had to improve. Her August numbers were certainly better.

The September numbers are based on only 3 games. She was 4-19 in the first two games and 9-14 in the third game. Hardly a trend.

I'm not convinced she will ever be an effective shooter in the W. Her ball handling, defensive ball hawking skills and charisma will keep her in the league.

If that is putting a player down, you need to grow a thicker skin.

No, you didn't put down Skylar in that post, but I would say you did in post #10 of this thread, although it was a mild insult. The idea you state above

Telling the truth is not putting them down.
is not true. The truth can be expressed as an insult, as it is all in the way the comment is worded. I can speak the 'truth' about UConn players (or former UConn players) in a way that is clearly insulting and bring down the wrath of the board members. I do not do so because it would be cruel to the athlete and the other Boneyard readers and I would be violating board rules by behaving like a troll. As a UConn fan, you have far greater leeway than I do and far less reservation in telling the 'truth' about players you do not like.

And to the point of Skylar's improvement, you wrote that Skylar's recent improvement in September is misleading because there are only three games used to comprise that average. Then why don't we just use the past 10 games as a guide? In the past 10 games, Skylar is shooting 39.1 %, which is higher than her Aug total and nearly the same as her present average in September. In her past 5 games, she is shooting 39.6%, which is marginally higher than her 3-game September average. That constitutes evidence of improvement in her shooting. And as you mentioned, her shooting is not her greatest asset. Always nice to shore up a weakness.

Well, if that comment is an example of me putting down a player, I was right, you do need a thicker skin. I hope you have a few more. Based on your other post, there must be a slew of them right at your fingertips.

I do agree with you on how it's more how you say something. I can be a little caustic at times.

Lastly. Please look at the 10 games prior to her 9-14 in her last game. I still say her improvement is not a trend but it jumped based on one game.
