RIP Tunch Ilkin

He was a genuinely good guy...RIP Tunch
He absolutely was a good guy. “He hit heaven’s gate at full sprint with a lot of high-fives and hallelujahs,” said Craig Wolfley, former Steelers teammate and best friend since they were drafted in 1980. He was born in Turkey and came to the U.S. with his family when he was 2, played 13 seasons with the Steelers. He was a devout Christian and family man. He worked tirelessly for the nonprofit organization Light of Life Rescue Mission, a homeless shelter and addiction recovery ministry, for more than 30 years. After his playing days were over he joined the Steelers broadcast team in 1998. SVC is where the Steelers held there training camp prior to the pandemic. SVC used to have a Steelers meet, greet, and eat event. Anyone who talked with Tunch for just few minutes realized how genuine he was and how much he cared about his fellow human beings.
