Rest in peace Ace Frehley, a cultural touchstone for those of us that are a certain age, and by all accounts a down to earth nice guy

Here I am again in the city
With a fistful of dollars
And baby, you better believe

I'm back
Back in the New York groove.

The fact Ace knew to cover that song on his solo LP (and then on Kiss's next LP, 'Dynasty', he got the band to cover the Rolling Stones' '2000 Man').

You knew he was a cut above.

Iconic guitarist for KISS. I was a bit young to be in the KISS army, but he had the best solo album when they released their solo albums. Back in the New York Groove. Plus, I had some winter boots that everyone said looked like Ace Frehley's boots.

Ace was quite the personality, for sure. May he Rest in Peace.

As for KISS...I was also too young to get into that marketing hype. Never got into them as I got to my teen years. Glorified garage band in my opinion.

Their prime is before my time, but I never really "got" them either. Obviously, an amazing show and big personalities in the band, but I never understood whether they were supposed to be taken seriously or not.
