Surprised he lived this long but was an incredible lyricist. Really married traditional Irish folk with punk rock in the 80s. The "Crock of Gold" documentary about the Pogues is very good. "Fairy Tale of NY" is an infinitely better Christmas tune that Maria Carey's.
