RIP Robert Duvall

I just watched Robert in a Twilight Zone S4E8 titled “Miniature” on Pluto. I never saw this episode before but apparently it was not always in syndication due to a copyright issue. Duvall is enamored with a doll in a museum.

Robert Duvall is considered one of the last of the Golden Age of Hollywood and now my favorite actor of all-time Jack Nicholson is on the clock. He represents what I consider the greatest era ever in film, the New Hollywood of the 1970's. Once he's gone it will feel like it's all gone. The industry just isn't anything like it used to be.

He and Gene Hackman, two of the best.
They friends, roommates and schoolmates. These two and Dustin Hoffman were all best friends before they were ever in a Hollywood set. Can't find a photo of all 3 together, but there are dozens of pictures with at least two of the trio together.

Duvall was also good friends with James Caan from their early acting school days in NYC and upstate NY. Besides “The Godfather”, they also acted together in “Killer Elite” and remained friends until Caan passed away. Robert lived a great life.

Cool footage with rehearsals of Duval and Caan beginning at 47 seconds.
