RIP Ricki Wertz

Ms Ricki Wertz passed away at the the age of 86. She was a television pioneer in the Pittsburgh, Pa market. She hosted a children's program in the late fifties and through the sixties. I believe every child in Pittsburgh watched "Ricki and Copper" at least sometimes. She went on to host a junior high school quiz program and other things later through the early eighties. She trained at the famed Pittsburgh Playhouse with actress Shirley Jones. Her first job on local station WTAE had her singing weather reports while dressed in a negligee. How times have changed!
