Saw them at the Lakeland Center. Excellent music, but everything was scripted.

One of the places I lived during my Houston days was about 50 yards down a little side street off a busy north/south avenue called Antoine. As it turns out, about a mile or two further north on Antoine was the place where one of the ZZ guys lived, or so I was told. Nice house but not celebrity showy. I'm sure I knew who at one time but my ancient memory has one or two gaps these days. Anyway, I worked downtown so I usually walked up to Antoine to ride the bus to work. I was chatting with a woman at the bus stop one morning and the subject of ZZ Top came up. She mentioned that she had the same dentist as those guys. And someone there at the practice told her that the joke around the office was that ZZ Top brushed their teeth once an album. So apparently their dental habits may not have been exemplary but they did make some good hard drivin' rock and roll. True story.

Sorry to hear of his passing.
