Ex-BC guard Clare Droesch, 36, dies of cancer

From 2003 to 2005 Boston College had a solid WCBB team -- and this lady was the heart of it.

She played her best in the big games. Never had gaudy stats, but she got the job done. She helped BC beat UConn a couple times, and led her team to the Big East title in 2004 and a couple of Sweet 16 appearances.

Met a woman with that last name earlier this week. Thought of Clair. Remembered how touted she was coming out of Christ the King (not sure is she started there). Really was bummed she didn’t come to UCONN.
Weird I thought of her this week. Didn’t know she was sick. Very sad. RIP, Clair.

I saw her play for Christ The King in Glens Falls at the state tourney...I believe she was a frosh at that point...very
unusual for CTK to play a frosh. She was good....I absolutely wanted her to follow Sue Bird to UConn.
