RIP Amir Abdur-Rahim - USF Head Coach

I saw this right when it broke, and I have no connection to them or him but like most I have heard nothing but great things about him. Crazy, shocking, numbing.

.-.
So sad, only 43 and just had the best season in USF basketball program history.

I have been telling everyone who'd listen that he should get a top job and was shocked he didn't get one last year. All he did was win. Maybe the schools were made aware of health issues and shied away. This is awful news. Rest in peace.

This is devastating- my thoughts & prayers go out to his family- one of the more impressive young coaches in the game- a shock to college basketball- hopefully programs have a moment of silence for him.

Sick to my stomach reading that. Great young coach and leader. Life is unfair
43 is way too young. For his wife and 3 kids to suddenly lose their husband and father unexpectedly is so tragic.

He seemed like a really good coach and soon to be rising star. I think he would have ended up at a P6 school very shortly.

RIP Amir Abdur-Rahim

Was truly one of the bright young stars in the coaching profession, just heartbreaking to hear and fathom

It's a real shame they didn't make the field with that 25-7 record. I felt maybe the only real snub this past year. Their 2012 team made the round of 32, (22-14 final record) and I felt this 2024 team also had at least a win in them.

They definitely deserved to be in over one of the middling Big10 or SEC teams that got in
