The Celebrity Jeopardy skits were some of SNL's best work.

Was there ever a greater game show host? If you were to look up the word "class" in the dictionary you would find Alex Trebek's photo next to it. Can this stupid year end fast enough?

That is just a great sum up Rocky. To watch him walk out on the podium each evening while knowing something of what he was experiencing was just the personification of courage and determination.

He was class personified. If you haven't read his autobiography, The Answer Is..., published earlier this year, give it a try. The book is charming and delightful and funny and revealing, all wrapped into one terrific volume. It's a great read for Trebek fans.

I just found out. He toughed it out for quite awhile. All those times I tried out for Jeopardy, I never met Alex. Best to his loved ones. His wife seems like a good egg, and IIRC he has a son who’s maybe early high school.

I used to marvel how he could nail the pronunciation of foreign words, especially French words, then I read in one of his obituaries that he grew up in Canada in a bilingual household, French and English.
