FB League now has 5 members + 3 affiliates (Fordham Gtown Rich)

Because CAA has been aggressive in recent years, they can easily absorb this (and Delaware), dropping to 13 teams.

Though CAA now has weird geography with just 1 team (Towson) in between Philly and Williamsburg VA.

Is the Patriot non scholarship football?
Used to be. They were going for junior Ivy League status but eventually added some scholarships.

With this move Richmond is deempasizing football.

Thanks, i thought Bucknell and Colgate didn't either.
63 is the FCS limit. I don't know the current conference rules but in the not too distant past the Patriot was a no scholarship league for all sports.

63 scholarship max. Only Georgetown is non-scholarship.
60

Since the transition to scholarship football was completed for the 2016–17 academic year, each football member has been allowed up to 60 scholarship equivalents per season, a total only slightly lower than the NCAA limit of 63 scholarship equivalents for FCS programs.

Such a silly arbitrary numbers. What would the extra 3 scholarships hurt? I could have sworn when Colgate made the FCS title game recently they were non scholarship but i might be "misremembering."

As noted in my post above, Patriot USED to be non-scholarship. See the wiki link for the history on it.

Wasn't exactly recent: Colgate made the FCS final in 2003. :)

Okay 2018, Colgate lost to North Dakota State in the Quarterfinals. That must be what I'm thinking. 2003 is too far back.

You can also split scholarships at FCS.
