I just can't wait until Cody Endres gets his chance to be a full-time starter without having to look over his shoulder.

What do you mean he's off the team?!?

I'm excited to find out what the new kids can do but we've got literally nothing to comment on.

Hype won't help the kid. Let him breathe. Except for a few weeks of Frazer and Endres, Whitmer was already the best QB since DO. Unless Boyle or Lagow is a savant the program is much better off letting those kids develop while the upperclassman play. It's called win-win.

The OP just asked if anyone heard how he was doing because he was his favorite, he didn't anoint him. Why is it such a bad thing to say they have a favorite for whatever their reason is, that someone needs to be slap them down for it? I want the team to win, I want the best players playing, doesn't mean I can't cheer for one that I like to be one of the players making a difference on Saturdays. If he's not then he has to work harder, and I'll be pulling for the guy who won the job, in the interim he has to put in the extra work to improve to win the job. No one here is putting pressure on any of them by saying they like the kid and that they are rooting for him to do well, certainly no more pressure than they put on themselves.

On a lighter note (I'm laughing as I type this) this discussion kinda reminds me of another famous quote as follows . . . by Pogo, circa 1972. Bottom line, we have great upside potential at QB for years to come, including Whitmer, the class of 2013, Marchi, etc. Sometimes I think good news is as hard to get used to as bad news.

I thought PP nailed him to the bench.

.-.
Am I the only one that can't figure out what all the bickering is about?

Personally, I'm excited because Whitmer is a relatively seasoned starter who, if he can get out INTs down, could be about as good as we've ever had at the position and behind him we have a very promising group of young guys. We have the two top QB recruits to come out of CT in the last five years on the team and a great looking prospect from football crazy Texas that looks really promising all waiting in the wings. This is what we've been pining for since Orlovsky graduated. Obviously there's no guarantee we'll break 3,000 yards passing, but it seems like everyone's pretty optimistic.

The Boneyard: Where people that generally agree with each other go to bicker about how other people compliment the people that they like.

I have no delusions of grandeur that my words are going to crush the self-esteem of young men that have already faced down challenges larger than my inflated opinions. These guys realize that the worst of them is 100x better at what they do than 99% of us. I'm ecstatic to see how they develop and confident that a Lagow/Boyle competition could result in one or two of the best QB's in the history of the program. That isn't pressure it's praise. I'll take my chances on being wrong but I doubt it.

Don't let me down guys! (lol)

Can you imagine this board if our young "pups" at QB can't light it up in the AAC over the next few years?

I can't even fathom the atmosphere around here. :(
